WHAT IS CROSSFIT CAROLINA BEACH?

We are a Crossfit-dedicated gym on the waterfront in Carolina Beach, North Carolina.
We provide a high-intensity strength and conditioning program that focuses on all ten
components of optimal physical fitness:
endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility,
power, speed, coordination, agility, balance, and accuracy.

 

 

OK, SO THEN WHAT IS CROSSFIT?

The one sentence answer  is “constantly varied, functional movement performed at a high intensity.” Examine this sentence closely and what emerges?  

 

  • “Constantly varied” = Always changing.  What we do is rarely, if ever, the same from day to day.  We likely won't do the same workout in a month and possibly not again in a year.
  • “Functional movement” = Actions that mimic or simulate what you might encounter in real life: lifting things off the floor, pressing them overhead, running, swimming, getting up off the ground.  These are the movements CrossFit focuses on.
  • “Performed at a high intensity” =  Hard.  While the WHAT of what we do often changes, the HOW we do rarely does, and the HOW is we go hard.

The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability, making it appropriate for any committed individual regardless of their physical abilities.  If CrossFit is right for you has much more to do with your mindset and attitude than with your current fitness level.  In fact, we like to say "CrossFit is for everybody, but not everyone is for CrossFit."

 



 

HOW DO I GET STARTED?

If you are new to CrossFit or want to check us out, you are welcome to come in and watch any of our training sessions unannounced and free of charge. But watching, or even trying out one workout will, at best, give you a limited view of the totality of what CrossFit is. Because what we do differs so widely from day to day, we recommend that you get several exposures to CrossFit before you decide if itʼs right for you.   If you're an experienced CrossFitter, you can jump right in.  If you aren't familiar with CrossFit methodology, fear not, we will get you there with our FOUNDATIONS SESSIONS.  These pair of hour long, one to one sessions will introduce you to the CrossFit fundamental movements and get you to the point where you can seamlessly join the group classes that make up the bulk of our program.  The cost for both sessions is $50, and is fully deducted from your first two months of membership if you decide to proceed.
